- Authors
Arteau, Jean-François
- Abstract
The author discusses the Plan Nord, which is a strategic economic development plan for Northern Québec proposed by the Québec government in May 2011, and counters with the Plan Nunavik, which was developed by the Nunavik Inuit and identifies some of the conditions in which the Plan Nord should be realized. The Nunavik territory, its Inuit community, and the environment's influence on the Inuit Indians' social, economic, and cultural are addressed. The Plan Nord's sustainable development aspect and the Inuits' view that the plan should also focus on improving their way of life are also discussed.
