- Abstract
We describe a series of six patients with naphthalene ball intentional poisoning in adult patients. A 41‑year‑old male developed methemoglobinemia, intravascular hemolysis, and hemoglobinuria. The patient was managed by intravenous methylene blue, ascorbic acid, N‑acetylcysteine, and packed red blood cell transfusion. Rest of the patients had mild symptoms and were managed symptomatically. All the patients had a favorable outcome. The relationship between features of the toxidrome and serum levels of methemoglobin is analyzed. The supportive role of gastric lavage and methylene blue is being discussed.
