- Title
The use of microcomputers in mouth charting and case presentation.
- Authors
McCormack, John
- Abstract
The article discusses the use of microcomputers in mouth charting and case presentations. It states that the arrival of computer graphics has eased anatomical form charting. Microcomputers with the appropriate hardware and software to run a dental graphics system are now available. A planned initial design phase is the basis of any computerized dental charting system. Firstly, a number of master drawings are prepared and stored. They are then selected, loaded, and worked on like any other clinical charting procedure. Dentists use formal case presentations to provide patients with information regarding their dental status and to suggest treatment alternatives. The accuracy of a computer drawing enables a proposed treatment plan to be drawn separately on the existing mouth chart.
