- Abstract
This research sheds light on the narration in the letters of the Minister Al-Sahib Bin Abbad. The writer employed this technique in reporting the events of the battles that took place between the Albuayhiiyn and their opponents, especially those battles that lasted for a long period of time and interspersed with many events affecting the course of relations between the rival princes. The research links the narration with other elements that dominated the writer's composition while writing. This is because this narration was not meant to convey the events, but was rather saturated with other goals implicit in the text. These goals were manifested in the elevation of the prince's status as the party that represents the good, while the other party (the opponent) represents the evil. Based on this duality, Al-Saheb bin Abbad narrates the events of the battles that took place between Adad al-Dawla al-Buwayhi and Qaboos bin washamkir. He used narration as a technique to influence the consciousness of the recipient and disseminate ideas that elevate the authority of Prince Adad to the state. He also shows Prince Qaboos bin washamkir as a treacherous man who has not kept the covenant.
