- Title
Spasticity in children with cerebral palsy: what are we treating?
- Authors
Gough, Martin
- Abstract
The article discusses findings of a study on spasticity in children with cerebral palsy. It states that botulinum toxin and selective dorsal rhizotomy were effective in reducing muscle spasticity, but did not provide a definition of spasticity, and mentions that spasticity appears to be viewed as an entity in itself rather than as a concept. It notes that developing children with cerebral palsy between birth and the age of 4 years had measurements of medial gastrocnemius muscle volume.
