- Abstract
The aging of the "baby boomers" as well as the successful development of various resurfacing modalities have created an increased demand for procedures or products that may reverse photoaging. A consideration for those people desiring such improvement is the amount of time to be devoted to healing of the skin. A unique skin-care system oriented toward reversal of photoaging plus a unique superficial peel combining alpha hydroxy, beta hydroxy, and retinoic acids is discussed and evaluated in 10 patients with biopsies and clinical evaluation after 10 weeks. An average improvement in photo-aging scores of about 12% was seen as well as 22% thickening of the epidermis and a 50% increase in Grenz zone collagen.
