- Authors
Mirel, Diana
- Abstract
The article offers information on anchor tenants and their efforts with shopping centers and owners to keep up with the changing consumer demands and shopping trends. It was stated that anchor tenants, a concept developed in 1950s when developers created regional malls within a larger department store, are finding initiatives to stay capable of supporting shopping centers in the current market. Anchor tenants are defined as stores, such as department stores, restaurants, and theaters, that drive traffic and sales to shopping centers. In addition, suggestions on how property managers and owners can improve their marketing and adapt to economic changes are presented.
