- Abstract
The article compares the results of patch tests in 11,962 patients between 1977 and 1983, to 1845 patients in 1987 using a standard series. 846 of the patients tested in 1987 were found to have at least one positive reaction. There was a mean of 1.84 positive results/patient. In the trend analysis, there was good correlation between our actual and predicted values for nickel, moderate correlation for chromate and balsam of Peru, but inconsistency for wool alcohols, formaldehyde, neomycin, parabens, gentamycin and mercuric chloride. Furthermore, there has been statistical restrictions on future forecasts based on past values by linear regression line.
