The article discuses participation of women in the Mormon missionary force between 1898 and 1915. Topics explored include the decision of then Mormon Church President Wilford Woodruff to appoint women as proselytizing missionaries, the significance of this decision to mission leadership and the aims and vision of the early mission theory of the Mormon Church.
