- Title
Coastal upwelling areas as safe havens during climate warming.
- Authors

- Abstract
The article discusses research being done on the impact of climate change on seaweeds. It references the study "Upswelling Areas as Climate Change Refugia for the Distribution and Genetic Diversity of a Marine Macroalgia," by C. R. Lourenco et al. in the 2016 issue. The variables considered include the role of sea surface temperatures (SST) in pelagic plankton richness, the geographic range of the seaweed Fucus guiryi and the effects of decreasing population density on fitness.
