Weaving Curricular Standards into the Language Classroom: An Action Research Study.
- Authors
Yamada, Yuko; Moeller, Aleidine J.
- Abstract
The article examines the action research study on the viewpoints of students in a post-secondary Japanese class about the pen pal letter exchange project in their school. The scheme is designed to motivate students to acquire second language in conformity with the five goals of the national criteria including communication, cultures, links, comparability, and residential districts. The report accounts how a project-based structure with a concentration on meaning can boost the development and originative facets of second language acquisition. Furthermore, it exemplifies how a schoolroom action can personify the national standards in a manner that is applicable and significant for students learning another language.
