Title
Disinfestation of wood with ionizing radiation.
Abstract
The article focuses on the application of ionizing radiation to control wood-borne insect pests and nematodes in wood. It relates that round and sawn wood-borne insects such as Buprestidae, Cerambycidae and Scolytidae can be treated with gamma radiation. It notes that irradiation treatment could lead to the death of the organism as well as prevent the eggs or larvae's development.
