- Abstract
This text presents a systematic review of scientific articles on the teaching of mathematics in engineering programs in Colombia and the United States. The results show that in the United States there is significant interest in research on learning, curriculum, and assessment of mathematics in engineering, from systemic, interdisciplinary, and sociocultural approaches. In contrast, in Colombia, the tendency is to study teaching processes from disciplinary and cognitive perspectives of mathematical education. The review seeks to contribute to the identification and analysis of theoretical and methodological trends in mathematical education in engineering in order to adapt them to different development and application contexts.
