- Abstract
The article discusses several issues that need to be considered when planning to implement regulations to reduce the risk of hearing damage in music venues. These include the need to respect existing regulations that also deal with sound levels and licensing of venues, the cost of compliance, and awareness-raising to ensure the successful implementation of regulations. Also mentioned is the Make Listening Safe initiative launched by the World Health Organization.
