- Abstract
This article presents information on a medical study done about alternative treatment options for a physically active 27-year-old woman with a diagnosis of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). According to the article, the patient was diagnosed with the disease following years of an irregular menstrual cycle and the results of an ultrasound, which found cyst formation on the ovaries. Several questions concerning the patient's diagnosis and treatment options are addressed by the author, who discusses symptoms of the syndrome and other possible diagnoses, including hyperandrogenism.
