- Abstract
The mission of the Health Surveillance is to promote and protect the health of the people through integrated and articulated shares of coordination, standardization, training, education, information, technical support, monitoring, supervision and evaluation in Health Surveillance, and always a center of reference, ensuring social inclusion and citizenship construction for the protection of life. His supervision is done through the power of police, exclusive of the state, run in audits, to enforce the subpoena and violations, prohibition of establishments, seizure of products and equipment etc. This study aimed to achieve a bibliographic survey to study the process of work of the Health Surveillance. The study brings concerning the lifting of bibliographic Health Surveillance. At the end of the bibliographic study, we can see the importance of the work of Health Surveillance to the population because ensures quality of services and consumer goods offered, providing greater credibility and quality of life for the population. The role of the Health Surveillance is important because it ensures the people a system of health aimed at health promotion, disease prevention and continuing education for the people, intervened in the health-disease, thus improving the quality of life of the population.
