- Abstract
This article provides information on post-pulmonary embolism syndrome (post-PE), chronic thromboembolic pulmonary disease (CTEPH), and chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH). It explains that post-PE refers to patients who continue to experience breathing difficulties and decreased quality of life despite receiving treatment. CTEPH is a condition where patients have persistent difficulty breathing without blood clots in the pulmonary arteries, while CTEPH is the most severe form characterized by permanent obstructions and high blood pressure in the pulmonary arteries. The article discusses the prevalence, risk factors, and diagnostic tests for these conditions, as well as treatment options such as anticoagulants, surgery, endovascular therapy, and medication. It emphasizes the importance of a multidisciplinary team for comprehensive care and provides resources for patients with pulmonary hypertension.
