- Abstract
The Little League World Series (LLWS) is one of corporatized sport's greatest spectacles. The current study seeks to excavate the complexities of the LLWS as a site of cultural exchange. In particular, the study offers a theoretically informed interpretation of the LLWS as a sporting spectacle by using Debord's (1994) critical analysis, The Society of the Spectacle. Furthermore, this research presents an analysis of the "real-life" implications of the relationship between spectacle phenomena, the corporate structure Little League Baseball (LLB) and the LLWS, and the mass media.
