- Abstract
According to Mehmet Kaplan, employing the method of a work-based text examination, but not a writer-based, there is a close similarity between nature and a written text; to be able to understand the written text, one should ask questions just as in nature. Nature is not intact, but can only become intact by examining the small and individual parts that constitute it. Approaching a literary work in such an exclusive way, Mehmet Kaplan also proves to be an important figure in Turkish Poetry with his poems he wrote during 1940-1942 and published in Çığır, one of the most important periodicals of that period. The aim of the article is to examine the poems of Mehmet Kaplan, a literary critic, who introduced major innovations to Turkish Literature in terms of poem analysis, and to reach some knowledge about his poet identity.
