- Abstract
The article presents a survey which identifies role and place of Jewish Studies programs in both the university and general Jewish communities. It has found out that 41 percent of Jewish college and graduate students were taking a Jewish study class as part of their coursework. They have observed that American Jewry engages in the processes of self-governance, whether in synagogues, federations, community relations groups, or social service agencies.
