- Title
Ten years of biotech gaffes.
- Authors
Hodgson, John
- Abstract
The article presents several errors made by notable people and companies that adversely affect the global biotechnology industries. The joint declaration made by U.S. President William Clinton and British Prime Minister Tony Blair for the availability of research information to the public had decreased the biotech stock value by 20 percent. The wide publication on toxin research contributed to the decline in field trials in Europe. Andrew Millar, head of clinical research, was dismissed from his post after the publication of his pessimistic views on marimastat and lexipafant drugs.
