- Title
ACCREDITATION PROGRAM FOR PERSONAL DOSIMETRY IN BRAZIL.
- Authors
Nascimento, L. F.; Vanhavere, F.E
- Abstract
The article discusses the requirements for an accreditation program for personal dosimetry using Optically Stimulated Luminescence (OSL) in Brazil. It notes that the growing application of OSL in personal and environmental dosimetry can be attributed to the high sensitivity of the material to ionizing radiation, as well as its easy and fast readout. Landauer Inc. is the manufacturer of the OSL dosimetry employed for the tests. Information on safety regulations facing a laboratory performing the personal dosimetry service is provided, along with the performance testing aspect of the accreditation process.
