- Abstract
The article presents research that offers insight on the significant role of the committees of creditors in Chapter 11 cases in the U.S. It outlines and explains the historical development of the committees and their speculated role in business reorganization. The study suggests that the committees may be beneficial to the reorganization process. Several weaknesses in the committees' structure such as their conflicts of interest and insufficient strong association are also featured.
