- Abstract
The article discusses the importance of the U.S. Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) in holding private military contractors (PMCs) accountable for the Baghdad's Bloody Sunday on September 16, 2007 in Iraq. It offers an overview of the UCMJ and the rise of PMCs in augmenting military forces. It suggests that the UCMJ should be used to hold PMCs accountable for their criminal actions by examining international law, host-nation law and U.S. civilian law.
