The article focuses on the controversy over the administration of the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit program in the United States. It is the larges federal program that support building low-income housing and is administered by the Treasury Department. Investors in residential rental property can claim tax credits for the development or rehabilitation of property to be rented to low-income tenants.
