- Abstract
The article focuses on a week of fourth grade reading class handled by Kerry Tonge, a teacher at Oakhill Elementary School in Elgin, Illinois. It notes that Tonge intends to change the focus of the use of questioning in her instruction to a comprehension strategy. It relates how Tonge incorporated the importance of peer interaction and reflection in her class. It adds that Tonge addressed the challenge of teaching a group of students with a wide range of reading skills by reading aloud.
