- Authors
Hoffheimer, Michael H.
- Abstract
The article focuses on the exercise of general personal jurisdiction over foreign manufacturers by state courts which were prohibited by due process clause of the U.S. law. It discusses the decision of Goodyear Dunlop Tires Operations S.A. v. Brown, which distinguishes between general and specific personal jurisdiction. It analyzes the U.S. Supreme Court case of J. McIntyre Machinery Ltd. v. Nicastro, wherein a restriction on personal jurisdiction has created scope for general jurisdiction.
