- Abstract
The article focuses on racial discrimination in voting rights under the Voting Rights Act (VRA) which was discussed in Shelby County v. Holder. Topics include VRA being invalidated by John Roberts, Chief Justice of the U.S. in Shelby County v. Holder, income equality in the U.S. resulting in exclusion of minorities from elections, effect of racial polarization in politics on the voting preferences of citizens and voter identification laws discussed in Crawford v. Marion County Election Board.
