- Abstract
With the development of technology, motion and control mechanisms need devices that can move in multiple axes and provide faster and more precise movement. So, the calculation of the parameters of electromagnetic systems, in the spherical coordinate system in particular, by analytical or semi-analytical methods has become one of the important research topics. In this study, a multi-turn coil inside a magnetic core was considered. Analytical expressions for B (Magnetic field), E (Electric field) and A (vector potential) were developed for a single-turn coil (basically the Green's function of the problem). Then the expressions for multi-turn case were obtained by superposition. The same problems were also solved using finite element analysis (FEA) with circular symmetry assumption. Finally, two concentric coils one of which is inside the magnetic core are considered. The analytical expressions for coefficients of self-inductance (Lii) and mutual inductance (Mij) were developed depending on the angle y between coil axes. Numerical simulation studies were carried out by creating a 3D model of coil geometries in the FEA program. FEA and analytical results were compared and validated.
