- Abstract
The article presents a study regarding the different types of masculinity in West Germany after Word War II. The relationship between masculinity and homosexuality was taken into account as well the close association between German manhood and militarism. The researches conducted by Uta Poiger, Robert Moeller and Heide Fehrenback on the so-called remasculinization of Germany were mentioned. The prevalance of male prostitution and presence of gay bars in the city of Hamburg were discussed. Key information about the stereotypes of homosexuality and subjectivity is further presented.
