- Abstract
The article presents a dossier on rural Andalusia from the Transition to democracy to the present day, focusing on projects, dynamics, changes, and persistences. It highlights that, in the political sphere, the return of democracy and the creation of the autonomous system allowed for unprecedented self-government in the management of rural areas. However, rural Andalusia has suffered structural imbalances and perpetuated injustices in terms of investment, services, and working conditions. The dossier examines the autonomous projects that sought to address the challenges faced by Andalusian towns in the 1980s and 1990s, shaping the roadmap for the first autonomous governments in rural areas. The article presents different aspects related to agrarian reform, the opening of local museums, and changes in urban planning during the transition to democracy in Andalusia. It highlights the implementation of socialist agrarian reform, focused on improving rural infrastructure and agricultural business, rather than balancing agrarian structures. It also mentions the opening of local museums in the province of Córdoba, which preserve and disseminate the history and heritage of the localities. Finally, it analyzes the change in urban planning, moving from a remedial approach to a more proactive and morphological one in the general plans approved during the transition.
