- Abstract
The article presents the annual report of the chief librarian of the American Antiquarian Society, discussing the condition and developments of the association's collections and archives as of October 1953. Comments are given highlighting several individual anecdotes of the library's use by historians throughout the nation. An overview is given of accessions gained by the society during the year, highlighting new additions by colonist minister Cotton Mather to the rare books collection, to the archives of patriotic war poetry, and the complete dramatic works of William Dunlap.
