- Abstract
The article titled "Bathing Suit Ichthyosis" discusses a case study of a 5-year-old girl with a rare variant of autosomal recessive congenital ichthyosis. The girl had dark brown lamellar scales predominantly on her trunk, neck, and axillae, which intensified during the summer months but remained mild in winter. A skin biopsy revealed hyperkeratosis of the epidermis, and genetic investigation identified a mutation in the TGM1 gene. The condition, known as bathing suit ichthyosis, is temperature-sensitive and primarily treated with emollients and topical keratolytics. The article provides information on the diagnosis, differential diagnosis, and treatment of this condition.
