Further scaleup for a 'downer' FCC process.
- Abstract
The article reports on the plan of Nippon Oil Corp. to construct a new confirmation-test plant in Mizushima, Japan. The facility will evaluate the performance of its high-severity fluid-catalytic cracking (HS-FCC) process with a treating capacity of 3,000 barrels per day and uses a downer reactor that opposes with the conventional FCC riser procedure which will begin its operation. In addition, Nippon Oil has been developing the HS-FCC process for several years in cooperation with Japan Cooperation Center and King Fhad University of Petroleum and Minerals.
