- Abstract
The article discusses the moral injury dealt on U.S. public health service workers during the pandemic as of 2023. Topics covered include moral injury's referral to the impact of events that violate personal moral beliefs and values in high-stress situations, and its manifestations as crisis of conscience and spawning of maladaptive coping behaviors. Also noted are strategies to address moral injury among the public health workforce.
