- Abstract
The article discusses teacher assessment of extensive reading (ER), which involves reading relatively easy material in the second language (L2), by students in English as a second or foreign language (ESL/EFL) classes. The authors report on a study of reading attitudes among Japanese EFL students who were assessed based on ER quizzes, finding no differences between students who were and were not assessed on their ER.
