- Abstract
Huamoxiang 3 (HMX3) is a new variety of whole grain black rice that has been bred for its superior taste and nutritional benefits. Whole grain black rice is rich in anthocyanins, which have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Despite the health benefits of whole grain rice, its consumption remains low worldwide. HMX3 was developed through a breeding program and has been certified as a new variety. It has shown good performance in terms of yield and quality and has received positive feedback from consumers. The nutritional composition of HMX3 is superior to milled grain rice, with higher levels of protein, dietary fiber, amino acids, oil, vitamins, minerals, and bioactive compounds. HMX3 is recommended for late rice cropping in Hubei Province. The research was supported by various grants.
