- Abstract
The article reports on development in stem cell research, referencing the four transcription factors technique developed by Shinya Yamanaka of Kyoto University. The four factors of Yamanaka is capable of reprogramming cells in such a way that 0.1% of the million cells in a simple skin biopsy become fully reprogrammed. Moreover, researchers infer that Yamanaka's technique alloews for the use of the most basic cells and can be performed using simple laboratory techniques.
