The article presents review of works on genesis and grammatical structures of pidgin and creole languages of Hugo Schuchardt. It mentions that Schuchardt adopted diverse approaches at different points in time whereas other philologists of his generation took only fixed approaches.and presents brief overview of how scholars approached the role of second language acquisition.
