- Abstract
The main aim of this article is to problematize remote teaching work in the context of basic education at public schools in Rio de Janeiro, during the pandemic, with a focus on the expansion of social inequalities, the precarious of teaching work and new forms of resistance for collective defense of health. This is a qualitative and participatory social research, carried out in partnership with the Union of Education Professionals of Rio de Janeiro, in the Macaé region. The parameters of the Expanded Research Community were adopted as a study strategy, which was adapted for the virtual environment. As for data analysis, the thematic content analysis technique was used, constituting six main themes of interpretation: inequalities in teaching work; social inequities among students; gender inequalities; differences in the sense of work with use of technologies; intersections from work with health; defense of health and the right to disconnect from work. It was found that inequalities have different nuances in a discouraging scenario, marked by exclusion and illness at work in schools, while new collective resistances in the face of these adversities are created.
