- Abstract
The protocol and etiquettes governed the life of the court of the Austrias, conditioned all the functioning of the court life and, for its follow-up were governed by the ordinances collected in the Books of Etiquettes where they were perfectly described with the provisions and explanatory drawings. With these documents, plus some contemporary chronicles, you can make a recreation of one of the most representative ceremonies of the court, such as the departure of the king to Mass, where the tours and obligations of each participant were arranged. The recreation of this ceremonial act that was performed in the Alcazar invariably from the first ordinances of the Austrias, with Charles V, until the fire of 1734, with Philip V, allows us to describe in a narrative and graphic way how it was one of the acts of life at court as a sample of many others.
