- Abstract
This work was to show the shape of ovaries of rabbit at last period of pregnancy and to show relation between pregnancy and progress of follicles. In this study, we use twenty pregnant rabbit, five rabbit at age 22 days, 24 days, 26 days and 30 days of pregnancy. Then the ovaries get out of the body, fixed in 10% formalin and processed for microscopic study, which show that the cortex of ovaries was filled with a lot of follicles in different types and sizes. Also this study show that the numbers of primary and primordial follicle decrease with gestation. While the number of secondary follicles decrease through all stage of pregnancy. The morphometrical result shows increase in the number of tertiary follicles in the last day of pregnancy.
