- Abstract
The novel is one of the types that started to stand out especially in the years after 1910 during the period of the occupation of Turkestan by Tsarist Russia. Firstly, it was a term used just for short stories but in the 1920's it became a part of Uzbeks' life as a literary type thanks to the historical novels of Abdulla Qodiriy. For this reason, Qodiriy, who lived a short life of 44 years, is considered as the pioneer of this type in Uzbekstan and today his impact still encourages young generations to write novels.
