- Abstract
The article discusses a study which aimed to characterize the perfluorooctanoic acid transport activity of human OAT4. HEK 293 cells and a transformed cell line derived from human embryonic kidney, were cultured in complete medium consisting of Medium 199 with 10% foetal bovine serum in an atmosphere of 5% CO2 and 95% air, for the study. The study found that human OAT4 transported perfluorooctanoic acid and the uptake by hOAT4 was greater than that by hOAT1.
