- Abstract
The article presents a study on the association between neighborhood socioeconomic status (SES) and mortality and readmission for patients admitted for diabetes management after adjusting for age, sex/race/ethnicity, medical comorbidities, and SES. Topics include comparison between patients from the highest SES neighborhoods and those from the lowest SES neighborhood, hypotheses that may explain the link between neighborhood socioeconomic deprivation and outcomes, and limitations of the study.
