- Abstract
The ionic liquid 1,3-disulfonic acid imidazolium hydrogen sulfate ([Dsim][HSO4]) is used as a highly effective and dual-functional catalyst for the production of triazolo[1,2-a]indazole-triones and 2H-indazolo[2,1-b]phthalazine-triones by the multi-component reaction of dimedone, arylaldehydes and 4-phenylurazole/2,3-dihydrophthalazine-1,4-dione under solvent-free conditions. A plausible and attractive mechanism based on dual-functionality of the catalyst is advanced.
