- Abstract
Evaluating outcomes of conservation with multidimensional indicators of well-being Conservation organizations and development agencies often try to promote mutually beneficial interventions (i.e., both people and ecosystems benefit from conservation interventions) (McShane et al., 2010). Despite an emerging recognition of the need to use multidimensional indicators of well-being in evaluating conservation outcomes, no impact evaluation has compared changes in multidimensional well-being of actors involved and those not involved in a conservation initiative (but see Gurney et al. [2014] who used impact evaluation to examine the impacts of community-based conservation on multidimensional poverty).
