- Abstract
The article focuses on the study "Bat Nipah Virus, Thailand" conducted by Boonlert Lumlertdacha, Kalyanee Boongird et al. The study reports the evidence of Nipah virus (NV) infection in Thai frugivorous and insectivorous bats. The southern blot analysis is useful for polymerase chain reaction confirmation of the NV RNA. There is a need for a countrywide surveillance to clarify the epidemiology of NV infection in Thailand.
