134 Choosing a suitable laboratory information management system Julie Staves 1 1 Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Oxford, United Kingdom The changing of the laboratory information management system (LIMS) is a big decision for a laboratory, and one which will impact the working of the lab for years to come. It is possible that the decision on what LIMS is selection is not impacted by the transfusion section, but it is important that if the decision doesn't work for transfusion that this is flagged at an early stage. 12 patients (1.6%) received a preoperative red cell transfusion, 158 patients (22.4%) received an intraoperative transfusion and 68 (9.4%) were transfused postoperatively.
