- Abstract
The article focuses on the short- and long-term effects of licit and illicit drugs during pregnancy. It discusses the short- and long-term consequences for children exposed on illicit drugs and opioid maintenance treatment (OMT) using Czech and Scandinavian cohorts. Also mentioned are the negative effects of licit and illicit drug use during pregnancy including physical and mental developmental impairments, heart defects, and gastroschisis.
